The name “Carma” means “the garden where one can find healing and growth.” We are dedicated to cultivating a safe environment for you to flourish.
Our belief system is rooted in performing deeper work. There are plenty of tricks and tips you can find in media and books, so we invest in non-traditional, empirically based humanistic interventions that will take you beyond surface level coping strategies.
At Carma, the therapeutic relationship is designed to help you feel supported, empowered, aware, and resilient. We are here to accompany you, establish goals, conquer challenges, and celebrate many glimmers.
We take pride in being a gender affirming, sex positive, spiritually open-minded space. We welcome individuals of all backgrounds and sexual orientations.

Beginning therapy is setting out on a brave quest toward greater self-knowledge, discovery of safety within relationships, and general inner peace.
Our first session is what I call a “get to know you.” It’s an opportunity for you to share your observations, experiences, and uncover goals for our work together.
Each session is crafted around your unique needs, so interventions vary. Our work will continue outside of sessions, where you will observe deeper self-awareness, gather new insights, and put strategies into practice.
At first, our sessions will typically be scheduled on a weekly basis. As we progress in our work, sessions often shift to bi-weekly or monthly maintenance. It is hard to identify how long the duration of therapy services will last. Each individual has different needs and experiences. Some only require a few months of sessions while others spend years, so where ever you are, we will meet you there.
-
Everything discussed in session is kept confidential. We honor your privacy and commit to ethical and legal standards. For parents and guardians of minor clients, you will be made aware of session topics, any safety concerns, and encouraged to participate in parent coaching sessions that allow extra time to discuss treatment and useful techniques for home.
There are some situations where counselors are legally obligated to break confidentiality, such as:
-If a client intends to harm themselves in a manner in which there is a substantial risk of incurring serious bodily harm or death.
-If a client threatens serious bodily harm or death to another person.
-If there is suspicion that a client or other named victim is the perpetrator, observer of, or actual victim of physical, emotional or sexual abuse of children under the age of 18 years or in the case of a dependent adult or elderly person.
-If a court of law issues a legitimate subpoena for information stated on the subpoena.
-
It’s crucial you feel confident in the connection you share with your counselor. It is encouraged you ask questions to see if we are aligned.
Below are some great questions to ask:
What modalities and techniques do you utilize most?
Are you trained in trauma informed practices?
What does collaboration in sessions look like?
Do you integrate somatic work into therapy?
What client populations do you work with?
Can you integrate non-western healing modalities?
Are you comfortable exploring social justice and systemic oppression in connection to mental health?
